SHREVEPORT, La., April 13, 2015 – The Rainforest Art Foundation located at 710 Travis Street, Shreveport, LA 71101 invites the community to join them from 4:30-7:30 pm on April 22 for their first Shreveport Earth Day Celebration. The celebration is free with a suggested $10 donation and features art, food for purchase, complimentary refreshments, local green organizations, family activities, presentations, live music, and performances.
April 22 also marks the end of the Panda Challenge and the Matching Grant Challenge extended deadline. RAF encourages people to bring cash and old cellphones or tablets to donate to these two challenges. The Panda Challenge is provided by PandaBit as a way to reduce e-waste while educating people of the harmful effects it has on our planet. The Matching Grant Challenge is a $25,000 matching grant opportunity provided by an anonymous donor.

The Rainforest Art Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to increase appreciation of nature through art. RAF has a gallery located in the Marlene Yu Museum in downtown Shreveport that features local and international artists. RAF has children’s programs including the Biology & Art Exploration Program held during the summer and an ongoing art collaboration called Kids Can that changes annually.
